Over 60 italian companies are exhibiting at Metalloobrabotka in Russia the reference exhibition for the machine tool industry

Over sixty Italian enterprises are taking part in Metalloobrabotka, the most important exhibition dedicated to the machine tool industry taking place in Russia.

Exhibiting autonomously or as participants of the Italian collective group organised by UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE in cooperation with ICE-Italian Trade Agency, the Italian companies participating in the trade show represent the whole spectrum of the “Made in Italy” production of the sector.

The head of the enterprises’ delegation is the President of the Italian machine tools, robots and automation manufacturers’ association, Massimo Carboniero: on the first day of this business mission, during a tour around the Italian stands, he met Denis Manturov, Minister of the Russian Economic Development and Trade.

Actually, Russia represents a leading market for Italian machine tool manufacturers, who saw their exports grow again in 2017, after a downturn period. With a 17% increase, the “Made in Italy” sales of the sector to Russia reached the amount of 90 million euro, making Russia the eighth outlet market for the Italian product supply; in 2016 it was tenth.

Massimo Carboniero commented: “Also thanks to the important incentive measures implemented by the Italian Government with regard to Industry 4.0, today the Made in Italy offering of the sector is much more competitive for the users all over the world. In addition to flexibility, very high technological standards, strong product customization, we also offer the interconnectivity function, which ensures our customers more efficient, performing and eco-sustainable production and processes”.

During the business mission, the President of UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE took part as a speaker in the work sessions of the “International Forum: Digital Engineering Production” organised by the Moscow University “Stankin”, with which for several years the Association has established a privileged relationship built around the project of the Italian-Russian Technological Centre, hosted at the University and developed along with the Ministry of Economic Development and ICE-Italian Trade Agency.

Inaugurated at the end of 2012 and equipped with Italian machines and technologies, the Italian-Russian Technological Centre has already trained hundreds of students from the engineering department and a large number of technicians attending professional training and refresher courses.

For us – pointed out Massimo Carboniero, visiting the Centre on the second day of the business mission – It is a great source of satisfaction to be able to contribute to the professional education and training of young Russian technicians and students, as well as a way of promoting “Made in Italy”: students and technicians are the future, best ambassadors of the value and quality of the Italian sector offering in Russia”.

The appreciation that has been shown over these years of profitable collaboration by our colleagues of the University “Stankin” – concluded Carboniero – proves that we did a good work and that the initiative is positive. This is an activity in addition to many others that were planned or that are scheduled, conceived to strengthen the relationship between the Italian machine tool industry and its Russian partners”.

The interest of the Russian operators in the Made in Italy of the sector is confirmed by the positive feedback received by the Italian enterprises exhibiting at Metalloobrabotka. Also owing to this, within the business mission organised by UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, the Ministry of Economic Development and ICE-Italian Trade Agency, a large delegation of Russian operators has been invited to visit 31.BI-MU, the International exhibition focused on the industry of the sector, scheduled to take place at fieramilano Rho from 9 to 13 October 2018.
